Trickster's Choice

Trickster's Choiceby Tamora Pierce

I love Tammy Pierce’s books set in the imaginary land of Tortall, and this one is delightful. It is the first of two about Aly, daughter of Alianna, the warrior heroine of the “Song of the Lioness” quartet. Unlike her mom, Aly is a spy. After being sold into slavery, Aly gets caught up in an effort to overturn the rulers of the Copper Isles and return the islands to a queen who will unite and strengthen them. Aly is clever, the plot is compelling, and the adventure captivated me completely.

I'd Tell You I Love You, by Ally Carter

Ally Carter bookI’d Tell you I Love You, But Then I’d Have to Kill You, by Ally Carter.

I just discovered Ally Carter’s wonderful Gallagher Girls series. She has a terrific premise: that Cammie and her friends attend an all-girls school that is really a school for high-tech, genius spies. Then one day, she meets an ordinary boy and has to pretend she’s an ordinary girl.  I really enjoyed this book – action, tension, imagination, humor, memorable characters who change and grow. What more can you ask for in a book? A great read. Now I’m eager to read more of her books.
