Elliott Bay's cedar shelves, browsing the 150,000 titles they have on display. The smell of the books and the bookshelves is intoxicating! And the staff recommendations are great.
But, wait! Didn't Elliott Bay Books move recently? Yes. They left their long-time home in the Pioneer Square area and are now happily settled into a new location on Capitol Hill, at 1521 Tenth Avenue, between Pike and Pine, just one block off Broadway. It's different than the old place, but just as magical. The readings are held in the basement; the steps down to it are at the back of the store.
Elliott Bay calls itself "Seattle's legendary independent bookstore." Can't argue with that!
I'm arranging other bookstore events, too, including my Book Launch Party on Saturday evening, Jan. 15, at ParkPlace Books in Kirkland. If you're the Seattle area in January, I hope you'll find one that fits your schedule and location. I love supporting independent booksellers!
